This body of work is a collection of photographs taken during the Covid-19 outbreak in the spring of 2020. As the Corona Virus affected the lives of millions around the world, Americans were advised (or ordered) to “shelter in place” in attempt to slow the curve. Life as I knew it had come to a standstill. I, like many, found myself in uncharted territory whilst confined within the familiar walls of my own home. As I meditated on the magnitude and oddity of living through a global pandemic, I set my mind to document my life in quarantine as it happened. It is my belief that this strange and unprecedented event will surely remain as a notorious scar in history, worthy of documentation. In these photographs, I aim to paint both a literal and psychological portrait of what my life in quarantine was like. As the days passed, blurring one into the other, the line between the mundane and the surreal began to fade. Isolation has the ability to make one reevaluate their perception. But one thing was for sure; to leave was to risk exposure.
